Less Than Two Weeks to Go!!!

And it's a good, dang thing! Look at these feet!!! Normally I would not post something like this, but I just wanted to show everyone how this pregnancy is going for me. :) I hate the hot weather and pregnancy. They do not mix!Luckily, I am almost finished with this pregnancy. I am going to be induced August 1. I changed the little ticker thing on the blog. It now says I am 38 weeks, but really, I will be induced at exactly 37. I had an ultrasound a week and a half ago, and the baby is measuring rather large. That's no surprise since Halley was 10 lbs. 6 oz. just before 38 weeks. Thank goodness I am still seeing my same doctor and that he is willing to induce me a little earlier.

So, I was so excited to get caught up on the blog, but I have literally just been surviving through this pregnancy. I was in the hospital for a week at the beginning of June, and things have just gotten harder since then. I was admitted to the hospital because I was sick and having contractions, but that's not why I ended up staying. The contractions went away once my fever got taken care of, but because they were monitoring the baby, they found that he had a weird heart thing. It's called SVT. It's not some terrible heart condition. I am taking some medication that is regulating his heart while in utero, and the pediatric cardiologist says the condition will probably go away when he's born. It was a long and difficult week, and the medication isn't very fun, but I am almost finished!

Needless to say, I have not caught up with the blog. I plan to do it eventually, but as for now, I'll just have to update you on each of our kiddos. :)

We Have a Dog!

I have been really neglecting posting about this whole thing because it has been a little bit emotional for me. :)
Wes brought home a cute little puppy when he came to visit us for Christmas. She is a blue heeler and he named her Sydney.
Here are the pictures from that first night:
I was actually very proud of myself for even remembering to take pictures. I was VERY surprised.
Now, she is almost full grown. Here are some pictures from a month or so ago:

It is obvious she absolutely loves the kids. Wes and I both thought it was very funny that she snuggled up to them and decided to "watch" the movie with them.
Anyway, this whole "having a dog" thing is not quite what I thought it would be. Like I said, when Wes brought her home I was extremely surprised and maybe even a little angry! Yes, I'll admit it. I was expecting to have him home for a couple weeks and just relax and be together. Let me just say, having a puppy is NOT relaxing. I was an emotional wreck!
So, after Wes went back to Arizona, I sent Sydney to his parents' house. I was too emotional and tired to deal with her. (Note: I was five weeks pregnant at the time, and I did consider just selling her.) They have three other dogs, and between my in-law's hard work and the example of their other dogs, Sydney learned a lot during that month.
We talked and talked about it and decided when he got home we would give it another try.
Sydney is an amazing dog. She is very smart. We are also amazed at how well she deals with the kids. They are constantly trying to give her commands, pulling on her tail, trying to get her to play fetch, playing with her food, etc. etc. Halley used to even climb in her crate! She learns quickly and is very patient.
However, I am still having some issues with having a dog. I guess I am just having a hard enough time dealing with three kids and being pregnant. I always wanted a dog growing up, and now I wonder what in the world I was thinking! They are a lot of work, especially with kids around.
I still think about maybe getting rid of her (don't tell Wes I said that), but I highly doubt that will happen. The kids and Wes love her too much. I think things will get better as she gets older, but I just hope the "puppy" time goes quickly!

New Posts

We have been working on all sorts of projects in and outside the house since Wes got home. I just posted some pictures from a couple months ago.
This is the one from Easter morning:

Playing Catch Up - Again!

Ok, so it's been awhile since I've really been posting regularly. I could claim a lot of excuses: I'm pregnant, life is busy, Wes is home so I don't feel the need, I am lazy, I'm tired, etc. etc. However, there really is no excuse. If I want to use this blog as a "scrapbook" I should be posting regularly. So . . . I really am going to try and get caught up. One of the biggest reasons is that because I am so far behind I am not taking as many pictures. Luckily, my sister has a cool new camera, and she is going to give me some of her pictures, but there really is no reason to be missing the opportunity to capture my kids' lives!
My goal is to be up to date with all my old pics and any new ones I take before the baby is born! Wish me luck!!
I will be dating the posts as the date of the pictures like I did before so I'll make sure to do a "New Post" post each time I do something old!
Enjoy!

OH BOY!!!

Ok, it's official! We are having another boy. I am really excited!! I really thought it was going to be a boy, but now we can officially start planning what to do with all our baby clothes and such. The nurse printed off like 12 pictures for me, but none of them were that great. She didn't even give me one of the "It's a Boy!" shot. I guess that might be good because I don't know how I'd feel if I had that kind of picture posted of me - even in utero!!!
WARNING: From this point on, it gets a little too wordy and maybe a little too whiny, but I have a need to express my feelings about my life!! He he he . . .
Anyway, so we have about 4 months left! I was talking with my sister the other day and realized that I am not taking the time to enjoy this pregnancy very much. I have this attitude of "Let's just get this over with."
I really don't enjoy being pregnant very much. This one has been especially hard. I have something I call being in "THE ZONE."
This is the frame of mind I get in when I am super stressed/emotional/overwhelmed/tired or all of the above. There are different scenarios that cause this frame of mind - being husband-less, moving, being pregnant, lots of changes, etc.
This frame of mind causes me to become sort of, well, selfish, in an odd sort of way. I mean, I spend my days cleaning, cooking, doing laundry, running errands, taking kids to school, etc. etc., but really I am basically just keeping everyone alive.

Sometimes I feel like I am ignoring all the important things in life - things like serving others and connecting emotionally with friends and family. This pregnancy I have had a really hard time keeping my emotions in check. I get frustrated so easily by such simple things.
I kind of feel like I am letting a lot of people down. including myself. I have all these good intentions, but then I just feel so ornery and tired all the time. I guess being in "THE ZONE" I just lack a lot of motivation.
Honestly, Wes and I have both been having a really difficult time since he got home. Change is always hard. He's been looking for a better job since February, and nothing has been working out. It's rough.
Ok, I am done complaining! I have an amazing husband and three wonderful children! I am so blessed to be pregnant again. I just need to take this opportunity to enjoy the miracle of life!!!
My new goal in life is to try to be more positive. I want to enjoy this time with my family. The kids are growing up so fast, and Wes has been able to be home with us a lot more than normal. I need to smile more and think happy thoughts! I think that will help me get out of "THE ZONE."
August coming as soon as possible will help too, I think. :)

Easter Morning

I didn't take very many pictures on Easter Sunday. I guess I just forgot! Anyway, we had a good day. The kids enjoyed the candy and especially the fun party at Aunt Sherry's house that night!

Halley found her basket in the closet. Woohoo! CANDY!! She opened the eggs before she even left the area!
I love that I actually got a pretty decent one of each of the kids SMILING with all their fun stuff! I didn't think that was possible!
There's nothing like getting new underwear! :) (These kind are for working out, the boys got some too so they were all VERY excited!)
I guess I should have had Wes take a picture of me, but well, I was in my jammies and I'm pregnant so I wasn't in the mood. :)

A Picture

People keep asking me to post pictures of me pregnant. I have already gained a lot of weight so I'm kind of unhappy with how I'm looking right now, but here's one of Wes and me last week.
It's not really a belly picture, but it's a cute one of Wes and me that I am sort of ok with sharing with the world! :)
P.S. We didn't plan to wear matching shirts. It seems like we both end up wearing the same color often!
